The Alvarez guitars range is a range of world class guitars that are immediately recognised as being one of the best to have and play, if not the best. This line of guitars was first introduced by a Japanese luthier called Kazuo Yairi, who working with an American company first designed these guitars. Kazuo Yairi now produces the top-of-the-range Alvarez-Yairi line in his factory in Kani in Japan. It is in the Yairi factory that each of these top models is hand made and crafted by Yairi's team of highly-trained luthiers to perfection without the use of computers or high-tech devices in order to preserve the individual sound and performance that is characteristic of the quality Alvarez guitars. However, a great many models of Alvarez guitars is produced in China, which is famed for its quality products and still cheap labour, guitar-making being a very labour-intensive and highly skilled process.

Alvarez Guitar has its headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. The Alvarez brand is now owned by LOUD Technologies, which also own other music-related brands.

The Alvarez range of guitars spans various styles from the acoustic range to the classical, dreadnought and electric guitar range. These ranges are suitable for all categories of players, from the virtual beginner to the full-fledged professional.
